Spark ✷ Tennis was founded by Alwin Tong, a former corporate product designer from New York, who has since settled in the SF Bay Area.
Alwin has taught for the Tennis Camps at Harvard University, for the City of Cambridge, MA and privately in Miami & NYC.
Philosophy
His teaching philosophy centers on the development of good mechanics, kinesthetics (‘feel’) and control. He aims to pass conceptual understanding of what happens when hitting the ball and to build strategies around the game. When teaching, he targets the proximal zone of development for that specific player, expanding at the edge of their skill set. He aims to make complete players with knowledge of the various aspects of the beautiful game.
